All of my children attend Bright Star ATA. My oldest has been attending for over 4 years. The instructors take the time to get to know each student individually. They make each student part of the Bright Star family. With this individualized attention, shyness is overcome while confidence is strengthened. Parents of special needs children can rest assured that the staff here will make every accommodation possible to make sure your child succeeds in every way. I could not have asked for better ATA instructors for my family! Thank you Bright Star!
Bright star is a wonderful place. I am totally comfortable dropping my twelve year old son off there almost 5 days a week. ATA has helped his social skills so much and he really feels good about himself now after being bullied and told he was 'different' or 'strange' for many years. The owner is kind, enthusiastic, and understanding. And we love the teachers! I saw a bad review on here and I'm quite shocked. Doesn't at all sound like the same place we attend. I would also like to say that compared to other 'team' sports this is quite inexpensive especially considering all the one on one attention each child gets and how often he attends. So happy to be a part of the bright star family!
Great school for special needs as well as typical children. Very patient staff with special needs children helping them reach the highest personal potential. I have been looking for a place like this for my 10 year old. Highly recommend.
My son has been training with Bright Star for a few years now,and we couldn't be happier with the establishment. The caring and attentive staff is top-notch (especially Lead Instructor, Mr. Dodley), the fees are affordable in comparison to other studios in our area, and the programs offered are extremely beneficial to all students. The studio offers, both, mainstream and adaptive training. Ms. Morrison, the owner, is dedicated to improving our community by welcoming all students - no matter their physical or mental capacity - through her studio doors to train in the art of taekwondo. This example of acceptance that she is setting is extremely rare in this sport, and serves as a reminder about the importance of encouraging belonging and embracing diversity in our society. Though, we, ourselves, are not raising a special needs child, we feel that our son is greatly benefiting from his time here at Bright Star. This is because, through Ms. Morrison's curriculum, he not only is learning valuable confidence-building and leadership skills, he is also being exposed to an all-inclusive environment that, I believe, all mainstream children should experience. Goodness knows that this broken world that we live in can, without question, use more compassionate, respectful, and accepting leaders. We are proud to be a part of this studio family, and will continue to support it wholeheartedly.
Bright Star ATA and Mr. Dodley is a great and positive influence in both my son and daughter's lives. I am extremely satisfied with the results. My 7 year old son has been at Bright Star ATA for 3 1/2 years. When he started, he was quiet and lacked confidence. Over the years he has come out of his shell and is more confident. He has learned about respect, right and wrong, and his techniques have matured with time. My 5 year old joined Bright Star when she was 3. She wasn't listening and very distracted. For the last 2 years she has developed with a great deal of patience from Mr. Dodley. Her listening skills has improved and she is more considerate of other kids. Our 2 year old will be joining Bright Star this year. Mr. Dodley created a great environment at Bright Star, combining learning discipline through fun activities for the kids. Strongly recommended.
